The Golden Gate Brass Band is honored to have been asked by the Golden Gate
National Conservancy to present a series of "Tribute Concerts" in celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the
Golden Gate Bridge. These concerts which we’re calling, "Musical Bridges to 1937" will feature the Top-40 Hits
of 1930-1930, great standard tunes like:
Over The Rainbow Happy Days Are Here Again Puttin’ On The Ritz I Got Rhythm Pennies From Heaven In The Mood It Don’t Mean A Thing. . . Alexander’s Ragtime Band
and including the signature dances of the time – The Jitterbug, The Lindy Hop, The Shag and The Continental.

The Gala Celebration! The Golden Gate Brass Band has also been invited to perform during the Gala Celebration weekend,
at San Francisco's
Crissy Field
on Sunday, May 27th from 4:30-5:30PM at which time we will premiere our new composition "Musical Amalgam: Brass & Steel " - An Overture for
Brass Instruments, Steel Girders and Bridge Remnants. "This piece will actually incorporate the pitches [tones/notes] produced by
the suspended steel pieces donated by the maintenance staff of the Golden Gate Bridge," states Kenneth Brungess, composer and
conductor of the organization.
Top, "name" acts will continue into the evening followed by a glorious fireworks display over the waterfront with the Golden Gate Bridge as the backdrop!
